A friend of mine is pregnant and wants to name her baby Prudence. Do you like that name? Would you want to have that name as your own? I personally don't like it and I think this kid will get teased in school.

I'm willing to bet that little Prudence will soon take on a nickname.
However, I also feel like as soon as Prudence finds out what prudence really means, she'll do the exact opposite.
eek.
i wouldn't choose this name.

Personally I dont like it I used to work with a lady named Prudence and she was nice but the name just didnt fit her she was like 50 something years old with the name Prudence.

I agree with you, I am absolutely sure a girl named Prudence would get teased relentlessly! It has "prude" in it, it reminds one of prunes, and it just doesn't sound pretty at all.=( It's like naming your son Gaylord. Not a good idea!

I knew a Prudence who was absolutely lovely. Blonde hair, blue eyes... the perfect child. Very sweet and lovely girl. Prudence is often shortened to "Prue" which is quite nice.
I think its a lovely name, and would call my daughter this.

Kierdenz is better than prudence.....!!! that baby will be teased at school....have pity on the baby....but if you like it, go on, your free to choose.......

I think it is adorable.
But,. consider your friend and the father of the baby. Are they easily upset or unduely shy? If they are spunkie and funny, then that spirit will be passed down to the kid who could do well wtih the name.

Yeah... I don't like this name. I picture her being a squat, fat little kid in kindergarden. She will have messy brown pigtails, huge plastic kids glasses, and poor looking teeth. She's clumsy and kids tease her.
I say NO!
