Compared to the DS, the DS Lite is smaller, lighter, has a brighter screen (featuring four brightness levels), a larger stylus and longer battery life. The casing has also been redesigned.
So far no games have been released that are "DS Lite only". The only ones that are use Game Boy Advance cartridges.
This is because the smaller dimensions of the DS Lite mean that GBA cartridges stick out about 1cm from the console and do not sit flush within as with the original DS. Because of this, some accessories such as the DS Browser data pack and the Nintendo MP3 Player come in specific DS and DS Lite sizes.
The "For Nintendo DS Lite ONLY" notice may also just a marketing aide, denoting games exclusive to DS systems or to get customers to buy a DS Lite over an original DS (which is not in production any more).

the ds lite is more shiny and smaller, the screens are a little bit bigger, and the stylus is bigger, so it is easier to hold, and the screen is brighter. the only games that would be for ds lite only are the one with a GBA option pack, because the gba slot is smaller on the ds lite(you can still play all gba games though). I perfer the ds lite. the only thing i know of thats better about the original ds is that the ds lite gets scratched up and lots of finger prints on the outside.

The "game" that is for the DS Lite is actually an "internet browser".
They came out with two separate ones because of the size difference the Original DS and DS Lit have.
I prefer my original DS, b/c the DS Lite's are more prone to damage, such as cracking backsides and more.

original nintendo ds pro: sturdier hinges, game boy advance games fit flushed with the system, may withstand more rough housing abuse with younger children original nintendo ds con: bulkier, screens are not as bright (only 3 levels of brightness), odd location for stylus for the ds lite pro: brighter screens, better positioned microphone and speakers, smaller and lighter (physically), stylus longer ds lite con: game boy advanced cartridge sticks out (on the bottom), publically documented failures in the hinge mechanism hope this helps in your decision!

if it wasn't just the browser that was "for DS Lite only" then it was actually because it has been a long while since they stopped making regular DS systems. so it's like saying "for gameboy advance only" - that's all
all games, other than the browser get ups, work in either DS regular or DS Lite
as for differences, i'll just link you to another question i've answered, instead of making this answer ridiculously long. - [http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhwrQF9UoSYt0TUQvUDPutnsy6IX?qid=20070502164610AA41CZF ]

DS Lite is much sleeker and sexier than the old version. It also has brighter screens and a lot smaller and less bulky than the older one.
