I was watching Home Alone 2, which features the Twin Towers. That got me wondering what was the last movie to feature the WTC. I believe that the first Spiderman movie had a scene with the towers but was cut out of the movie. If you have any ideas please let me know.

As far as mainstream movies go, it was "Vanilla Sky" (2001). The movie was released just three months after the towers fell. Director Cameron Crowe refused to remove the towers from the background, even though studio executives wanted him to. The towers appear in the background near the end of the movie when the characters are all at the top of a skyscraper.

Here's a link to the latest movies that featured them, in chronological order:

The 2001 movie "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", released two months before the attacks, features several scenes of "Old New York" without the Twin Towers. In the 2001 Steven Spielberg film Artificial Intelligence: A.I., the towers were shown standing in the year 2142 where global warming has flooded many cities including New York City. Then, they are seen again, in the year 4142, many years after humanity has ceased to exist, this time covered in glacial ice but where one of the few buildings standing above the ice. Less than three months after the release, the towers were destroyed in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Although risking controversy and criticism, Steven Spielberg left the towers in the DVD release.

Before the attacks, I think it was Zoolander; it's shown once barely in a nighttime shot on the Brooklyn bridge. Since, the WTC was in an obscure 2002 movie called All 4 the Money. think all movies since 2002 (besides Spiderman [check the montage about 50 minutes in the movie]) have the towers added in digitally.

I am pretty sure it was spider man as well.. I know that it was not released the week it was supposed to because they were editing them out.. Vanilla Sky is probably the last one to have them in it without editing them out though..
