I believe in a higher power and don't force my beliefs onto others, ever. In fact, I don't even attend church because I tithe to various charities and feel good about doing that.

Why is it that Christian fundamentalism is continually brought up? Are you so convinced that one has to be a Christian Fundamentalist to be a conservative or for that matter a registered republican? Describe what you folks who continue to ask this same question over and over again mean when referring to us as Christian Fundamentalists. What are they?
Thanks!

Thank you for some of these responses.

I ask again, why are we alway referred to as Christian Fundamentalists if most of us are not? It gets old, folks!

Thank all of you. You've proven my point. It's ridiculous to use Christian Fundamentalism on most of us because it's a false tag and I've gotten very frustrated. I see very few people on this forum attempting to shove their Christian beliefs down anybody's throat.

Someone who takes the Bible literally and who makes every verse override physical laws. When the Bible and the physics book don't go together.

Why the libs label every conservative so, I don't know. Ask the libs.

From the description you give of yourself you are not a fundamentalist. They are people who believe every word as it is written in the bible and want to inflict their beliefs on everybody. As it happens they would probably be republicans but that is only a front to cover their desire to control every aspest of life. They couldn't care less about politics. Splitting their vote by some voting liberal would weaken their position.

There are a lot of conservatives who aren't Christian Fundamentalists. I don't know why people can't get the facts right.

A christian fundamentalist is someone who wants to use the government to enforce their religion on the population. They want government promoted/enforced prayer in the school, religion mixed with government, and religious tests for office. Fundies like Pat Robertson believe that only christians should be able to hold political office.

The more fundamentalist of the fundies also kill doctors, blow abortion clinics and gay night clubs, and protest at gay people's (and dead soldiers') funerals.

Fundamentalists in general also tend to promote hate against other religions and other people. Liberal christians, on the other hand, tend to form interfaith organizations to promote understanding between religions.

You know, it's just a tag that so many liberals put on so many conservatives.....just like "neo-cons" or "zionists" to group them all together and vilify them.
