Manny Mota was a force at the plate, most notably with the LA Dodgers. He managed to stay and thrive in the big leagues simply by his ability to pinch hit in clutch situations. Not to take away from Lenny Harris, but Mota is known as Mr. Pinch Hitter.

Manny Mota "wasted" several of his prime pinch hitting years playing in the field, often getting 300+ at bats as a semi-regular outfielder for both the Pirates and the Dodgers.

At the end his career when Mota was serving as a hitting coach for the Dodgers, but had to get re-activated to the roster to help the team. It has often been said and written about Manny Mota that he could roll out of be on Christmas Morning and hit a line drive up the middle.

If Manny was poor in the field as were many other top pinch hitters, he would have had many more opportunities to get the additional pinch hits.

Harris had 212 pinch hits in 801 official pinch hit at bats.
That is a .265 batting average for Harris.

Mota had 150 pinch hits in 505 official pinch hit at bats.
That is a .297 batting average for Mota.

Lenny Harris hands down just wait the feed back will be HARRIS................. Lenny is the career pinch-hit record.. Lenny batted .269 with 37 homers, 369 RBIs and 131 steals across 18 big league seasons with 8 clubs, winning a World Series with Florida. Harris also played all 4 infield positions. Manny Mota was a great player the reason I say Lenny Harris is that Harris played against tougher pitchers..........Kiddo lol

I believe Harris will go down in history as one of the best pitch hitters in baseball. I will say Manny mota was good. I grew up watching him play and always felt confident he would get a hit when he came in off the bench. To answer your question deffinitely harris.
