If there is, it will be a team from another city moving there. I don't think one will be created from scratch.
There was talk of the possibility of the Saints moving there by maybe 2011. But I don't think New Orleans and the surrounding region will give up without a fight. And given the recent success of the franchise, most people there will not be so eager to get rid of them, despite the team's lack of success in the past. It's all going to rest on the shoulders of Tom Benson (the owner). Really, the only way the team will move to LA is if he sells the team or he passes away (he's quite advanced in years) and his heirs decide to sell the team. If the team moves anywhere, it will be San Antonio.
If any team has a chance of relocating, it will be the Raiders. They've been in LA before, and certainly the fan base is already there. It all depends on what Al Davis wants to do.

I imagine they'll get one, but I wonder why. Football does so well in smaller cities. (Greenbay, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Nashville, Indianpolis) This "small town" atmosphere in Football is one of the things that makes it so popular. Part of Peyton Manning's legend is that he's doing all these great things in Indianapolis, and the citizens of Indy, in turn, deify him! Same with Bettis and Pittsburgh, even as a smaller star. The NFL will eventually probably put another doomed-to-be-failed franchize in the largest city that could care less about the nation's craze, but the better question would be, should it? I think Portland & San Antonio are much more fertile grounds for a franchize.

I don't see it happening for another five years at least...same ongoing debate going around in circle about where, when, who will finance and who wants the NFL team in L.A...and as another years go by, skipping generation of football fans...L.A. fans seem to be ok without having NFL in L.A...I bet you this new commissioner of NFL don't have NFL team in L.A. on his priority agenda..he is too busy cracking down on troublesome NFL players and handing down suspension etc...your best bet is to support L.A. Avengers arena football and both USC and UCLA football program.

Hope not, I enjoy watching different games from around the country. The Raiders won't move back to LA as long as Al Davis is in charge.

Probable not in your life time. L.A. politicians are not NFL friendly. The Texans were supposed to go there. NFL got tired of L.A. idiot politicians and put franchise in Texas.
