Is Spam a real meat? Defensively, the Texans can only wish to match up. . .they've got some young talent up and coming but that's far from an established veteran defense with guys like Urlacher. Offensively, the Texans made a big jump in the off season, signing Matt Schaub (who is at least better than Carr) and Ahman Green, who should provide a steady run game; add Andre Johnson and two nice, young TEs in Owen Daniels and Bo Scaife and the Texans O is at least respectable. Personally, they aren't leagues behind the Bears offensively (besides the O-line) but are still lacking nonetheless. Give them a few years, some solid drafts, and some aggressive free agent signings and they could be in the playoffs on a regular basis. As for now, they are only Spam at best.

um.....which drugs you takin? first off, the bears are only good for a couple years, then are terrible for a decade. indeed, in those couple years they are a great team. second, do you want the texans to end up the way the bears end up???
i like the texans, but i sure hope this wont happen. the texans do have a similar philosophy in the bears in establishing a dominant D-Line, but there are several teams trying to accomplish that as well, the bears just have the best DL. well, last year in the first half of the season at least, before harris went down.
the texans are the texans, not compared to anyone else. i dont think they'll do much this year without an OL for Schaub to work behind, but give them 2-3 years to address that and keep working on the DL as well, they'll be a strong team. in theory, they are quietly climbing to the top.

Texans could be quite interesting this year and could make some noise. Schaub is unproven as a starting QB but has shown more leadership than Carr did. He seems to have a lot of poise but we'll see what happens after he takes a few shots because the Texans have not done much to improve the O-line. Getting Ahman Green could be a tremendous signing if he stays healthy. The defense should be much improved with the exception of the secondary. The D-line which includes Okaye (sp), Williams and Weaver hopefully can get to the QB. The LB's seem to be strong and the main question is whether Dunta Robinson can get some help in the secondary.
The Colts are obviously tops in the division but the Jaguars are overrated and Titans did not do much to help themselves. They could be in playoff hunt in early December IF Schaub settles in to the starting role

Ok, the defense has potential but it's unproven. It's too early to say that DeMeco Evans will be as good as Urlacher; even if this happens and Mario Williams plays at his 1st overall pick level (not another Courtney Brown), the Texans won't be the next Bears.
There are serious concerns on the secondary, where Dunta Robinson is the only solid player. The rest of the guys wouldn't be starters on most teams.

What do you mean? Me being Bears fan, I'm guessing you mean going from 5-11 to 11-5 in one season, all of it being defense ( which is what Houston is trying to get drafting DLmen every year). Then, the following season, going to the SB and 13-3. It's possible, but it will probably take on more season before the Texans are playoff material. But like you said, never know. I didn't even predict the Bears going on an 8- game winning streak 2 years ago, so like I said, you never know.

They could be in a few years, young and coming D (Chicago has dominant) and not as good an o-line. A. J. compares to Muhammad but Walter is unproven and more like Ed McCaffey than Bernard Berrian. They both have good TEs and RBs...but QB? Rex Grossman is way too inconsisent. Matt Schaub is the next Brett Favre. Right now they arent as good and should go 8-8 if they're lucky 10-6. In a few years look for them to be even better

It seems solid for a 10-6 end, yet you're forgetting the different 8-5 team, the Cowboys. it is difficulty-free to brush off them given their time table (Giants, Ravens, at Eagles) and contemporary turmoil; yet enable's no longer forget they very almost beat Pittsburgh. on the line in sub-0 temperatures. i comprehend very almost does not count extensive form, however the Cowboys are not that undesirable. So particular, the Bears could make it, because of the fact the Cowboys and Vikings have extra difficult schedules.

Geographically speaking, no (giggles).
But in terms of inconsistency at the QB position, you bet your sweet pigskin they are. They also lack a developed running game and need to grow their O-Line. But hey, it's (another) rebuilding, or um, er building year for the Texans.
I would personally like to see Bradlee Van Pelt get some playing time, and Brian Griese since we're on the topic (of which I know we're not, but isn't it nice to hear their names again?)
If I could give points for a random question (1 point being least random, 100 being most) this would merit a 500.

If by being like the Bears you mean not appearing in a super bowl for over 20 years, then yes.
