Yes.

It's a penguin-eat-penguin world out there in the land of hollywood studios. Just as in the TV industry, everyone's afraid to do anything original. So one studio comes out with an animated penguin movie, and it's wildly successful, so now every studio needs to capitalize on it.

I am looking forward to the day when independent filmmakers can utilize the Internet to produce a relatively inexpensive blockbuster.

Not only am I tired of animated penguin movies, but I'm also tired of:

* 50's & 60's comic book heroes going to the big screen with multiple sequels
* TV shows going to the big screen (with or without sequels)
* Movies being remade into movies
* Movies that are made specifically and only to market another product

How about some good ol' fashioned ORIGINAL entertainment?

Are there any other than "Happy Feet" and "Surf's Up"? OK, maybe "The Pebble and the Penguin", but that came out several years ago.

I haven't seen any of them, so I can't say anything about their individual merits. But it is kind f frustrating that there seem to be so few fresh ideas in animated films sometimes. There are frequently weird "coincidences" where two films with very similar subject matter come out in rapid succession. I think this is more a case of two studios wanting to cash in on the success of "March of the Penguins" than corporate espionage or whatever.

If it's any consolation, there are no penguins in "Ratatouille", so far as I know.

There is only two so far that have come out lately, "Happy Feet" and Surfs Up". And no I am not sick of these movies they have completely different themes and characters, these kind of movies are fun for both Kids and Adults and it doesn't matter if they are penguin movies or what the characters are I hope they continue to make more movies like these that touch both children and adults.

I don't really mind, I like penguins but the whole idea is becoming a bit of a cliche. Especially as these movies keep coming out one after the other.

Really I have no problem, unless the movie is crap.

It was cool when Happy Feet came out.
But it's like enough is enough already.
They need to choose another animal for a movie.

haven't seen them but it seems like if there is a CG movie from one company then the other companies got to copy it.
