When you take the time (and brain power) to answer someone's question,does it bother you more when you get "thumbs downs" or if the asker doesn't seem to care enough to rate anyone's answers?

BTW-all of the ratings here so far weren't from me. I don't rate them til the end and I have to choose a "best". Whoever is giving the "thumbs downs" sux!

It bothers me more when the asker doesn't seem to care enough to rate anyones answers because getting a thumbs down is just someones opinion I mean I give thumbs down sometimes to so defiantly when the answer doesn't seem to care enough to rate anyones answers.

I don't mind one way or the other. Sometimes, other people reading all the answers give thumbs down to anyone because it's cute to them and they get a kick out of it.
Also, I don't mind when the person doesn't pick a best answer...
I have come to the realization, a long time ago, that this place is 50/50 (sincere/fun n games) depending on one's views....

Never really thought about it too much, but what really bothers me is when people come in and give thumbs up/down but don't even bother to answer the question, I mean if you give thumbs down then you should have a better answer right?

at first both. then i realized other people who gave what i thought were really good answers were getting thumbs down too.
now it's when the asker doesn't pick a best answer. i've read a couple of questions where everyone had a good answer, but if you ask a question you should pick a best answer.

Thumbs down. When I have been honest and stated it as it is, I hate it when someone "downs" it. Even worse is when I look and every answer but one has the thumbs down, and that one answered the same as everyone else. What's up with that?

It doesn't really bother me if I get thumbs down, but if they don't chose my answer for best answer then that is there choice and I don't go check to see if every question is answered!
