This would not be a paying job, but it gives you good experience with animals: Donate your time at a local humane society. You can help out in many ways, from simply playing with the kittens to caring for the horses.

This may be tough for you to do. Most veterinarians and kennels will not hire someone under the age of 18 because of the risk of bites. Sometimes you can find one of these places that will hire you as a kennel tech. Basically you will be cleaning up after dogs/cats and their kennels. I really don't recommend pet stores because there are so many that do not house and take care of their animals properly. They have good intentions but usually end up being disease factories. Not a very good place to pick up lifelong knowledge especially if you are considering going into the veterinary profession in the future. You didn't mention where you live. Is farm work an option for you?

Cool,I'm also 14!
You can find a job at a local pet store,a neighbor or friend that has animals,a farm, stable, etc. It really depends on what kind of animal you want to be involved with during the summer. Just drop me an email if you need help.

If you can't get a job at a humane society, vet or pet store because you're too young, you could check with some of your neighbours who have pets. Lots of people go away for the summer and I'm sure they would love to have someone take care of their animals!

At 14, I labored as a babysitting and a mom's helper, yet I made the main money cleansing properties for elderly (who had the money) and pregnant women human beings doing merely the failings they had difficulty doing. This blanketed cleansing loos (use gloves!), bathe, tubs, corners, washing flooring, vacuuming. see you later as you do not sign in for doing each and every of the housecleaning, you're out and in in a pair of hours and might do 2 or 3 properties in one day, if desire be. cost: make beneficial they understand that they are to pay you IN money the same day which you're working. Reduces the probabilities which you are going to be stiffed.

Check local shelters and humane societies and even in your neighborhood. Ask your neighbors if they would allow you to walk their dog and play with them while they are working for a small fee. Call some of the vet and groomers and see if they will hire you on as a kennel cleaner. Good Luck:>) I'd hire you as a dog walker if you lived near me.
