This is driving me freaking mad. Its a new dishwasher, I just bought it a year ago. Ive tried cleaners, washing it by hand, hell, I even tried "the works" bathroom cleaner.

Its this horrible white powder, like, imagine powder dish soap grounded into a fine powder. I coats EVERYTHING.

I cant get rid of it. Anyone else have this problem? How do i fix it? Its not the water, already tried that. Ive ran it without any soap in it numerous times. WIth the heat on, and the heat off.

GGRRRAHHHHH! What good is a 300 dollar machine that DOESNT WORK!!!???

I have only always used cascade. I changed to the gel thinking that might help.

Its a powder thats caked onto the inside of the washer, and it leaves a film on the dishes.

Ive used "the works" which works better on lime scale and all sorts of build up than anything else Ive ever used in the bathroom/toilet/kitchen.

Nothing.

Sounds like lime scale build up, try running a cup of vinegar through it. Good Luck! =)
Try using Cascade complete gel.

Use vinegar! Begin by starting the empty dishwasher on a regular cycle -- do not use dishwasher detergent. Let the cycle run for a couple of minutes, until the bottom of the dishwasher has begun filling with water (just open the door carefully and take a peek), then add 2 to 3 cups of white vinegar to the water, close the door and let the dishwasher complete the full cycle. Note: You can repeat this process if necessary.

It sounds to me like it is lime. Try using CLR and put it in the dish washer and run the washer a couple of times. Then run it a few more times to make sure all the CLR is out. It should be all good after that.

Its not the machine, its the soap you are using. Use a different better product. Its not all disolving and leaving a residue on your dishes and the dishwasher.
Cheap dishwashing soap isn't worth the effort.
Try Cascade with some spot preventor....

You might try apple cider vinegar straight through a cycle. The only other thing I can think of do you have a water softener. If not that could be the problem, it does make a difference.

Note: Apple cider vinegar is a stronger make sure it is rinsed well.

Did you try "iron out " or "CLR"? Sounds like it's a limescale build up or something. Run it with nothing but the "Iron Out" or "CLR" in it.

Call the manufacturer also for some suggestions if that doesn't do it.

And switch to a gel dishwasher soap for a while.

It could be residue from your water. Our plumber advised us to run a little bleach through ours about once a month through a full cycle to get everything clean inside.
Don't use too much, only like a cup or so and run it on hot through the long cycle.

White vinigar may also be worth a try! : )

Try this it might work and if it doesn't you're not out of major money....Buy some unsweetened Koo-Aid packets, generic is fine and add it like you would dishwasher detergent. Run it acouple times w/o dishes and see if that helps... I do this about once a month to freshen my dishwasher

Is it caked on hard white powder? If so it is hard water residue, vinnegar, lime away, or CLR will help cut through it. You do have to soak it for quite a while. (and resoak)
