It means the spouse that ook the name off wants SOLE ownership of the home and is either A) looking to do this before a divorce ro B) trying to decrease the wifes assets so she can qualify for some type of aid if she is looking for assistance. Either way the wife has to give permission for the change to be made or it is not legal.

You can not just remove a wife's name off their home, unless she signed a quit claim deed, or she was bought out by her husband. Also, a possibility that she has a bad credit and they cannot get a refinance or another loan unless the loan is just in the husband's name. It also depends on what state they live in and what the laws on conjugal properties are. It all depends. There are different reasons why spouses names can be removed from a property, most of them are legal.

He cant do it, unless the wife has agreed. If the home was legally in both names, then it belongs to both of them. I suggest the wife sees a lawyer pretty quickly because I dont know how the husband could take his wife's name off their home legally.

I may:

1. Not mean anything without his wife's consent

2. That maybe he's trying to get a loan and her credit is bad

3. He's trying to pull a fast one

4. They may be in the middle of a divorce and the judge has awarded him the home

It could mean any number of things! There's not enough information to anyone to give a concise answer.

In order for the wife's name to be taken off the deed, she would have had to have signed a Quit Claim Deed surrendering her interest in the property.

If her husband had her name taken off without her knowledge, it means she needs an attorney - NOW!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the man doesn't want his wifes name on the house anymore. It's still community property even if her name isnt on it. He is buying into a false sense of security.

When we changed names on the deed, the original names on it had to sign the quick claim deed. He thinks he's going to get it all. Maybe he doesn't realize that if they get a divorce, she'll still get half. He probably sees dollars dancing in his head.

I don't understand how he removed her name without her permission. Obviously he has something up his sleeve.
He cannot take her name off if there is a mortgage unless the laws in his state are really weird.

Their ownership was removed from the deed. But I dont know how on earth you could do that without the spouses consent.
