The saying is one of the Beatitudes, purportedly spoken by Christ on the Sermon on the Mount, and can be found in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 5.

As for the meek inheriting the earth, that will only happen if we let them.

Yes the meek will inherit the earth. The phrase comes straight from the BIBLE which is GOD's word. I believe in GOD and therefore believe what HE tells me.

In Matt.5:5 (Bible) it is stated. The meek or gentle are humble people who are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. They are hardly weak or cowardly as some would think.

To be humble is to think of others more than yourself. A very hard thing to do in this world.

This is from the Scriptures. 'Meek' here is humility, modesty and earth is not about worldly possessions. A non-egotistical person will get that peace of mind that will take him to the Kingdom of Heaven.

jesus said that in the sermon on the mount when he gave the world the beatitudes.

will the meek inherit the earth? that depends on whether or not you want to take jesus' word. but if you don't believe the words of Jesus Christ, then i don't know what you believe [if you're christian. if you aren't, then by all means, continue what you believe]...
