I'm curious... at what size to you consider someone "Petite" like as in Height & Clothing? And what is an avarage size for women?

Petite size is anyone under 5'4"- I have seen plus size petite clothes and regular sized petite clothes as well.
The average size for a American woman is 5'4" and weighs about 152 LBS- so I am guessing a size 10/12?

Petite height is 5'3" and under. You can buy petite size clothing in Women's sizes up to 26W and above. If you are talking about tiny people you can be 5'10" and wear a size 2 or you can be 4' tall and wear a size 2.
The average height for women is above petite sizes but below the tall sizes.

The average woman in America wears a size 14.
Most petite charts say 5'3" and under, so I agree with them.

Generally petite is someone who is 5'3'' or less..alot of the time pple of that height have a weight distribution in accordance with that and so are usually skinny, but if not then you just take advice from a cmbination of 'look taller' info and info for your art body shape. pple come in different shapes, no matter what height they are, and pple change their weights all the time, so there is technically no 'average size' for someone who is petite, or otherwise, if you're looking at it from that perspective.

People and mostly referring to women have totally lost sight of the meaning of petite. I guess they try to cover for the extra weight they carry so they prefer to refer to themselves as petite. Take a look in the dictionary, it mean....1pe·tite

Being overweight or fat isn't included in the definition. Petite means small in height and weight. Get over it!!!!

it is a height thing and not a size thing. If you are 5'4" or shorter you are considered petite. They make petite sizes at Ann Taylor Loft up to a size 18 petite.
The average size for an american women is 5'4" tall and size 14.
