I just wanted any information anyone could give me about the after effects of breast reduction surgery? I am having a hard time getting my insurance to cover it, I have had 3 different doctors diagonis it has health risk for me. Insurance keeps turning it down because of my weight. but i way that much because my cheast is extremly large and heavy. The doctor said because of there weight it falsely adds 45 pounds to me. Insurance still isnt buying it. I am going to have to pay out of pocket for it, because its something that must be done. Any opinons, experiences, concerns...ect...

Bug that insurance company with proof until they approve it. I can't believe this is such a PITA for us to get coverage for something that will help our health by taking the baggage from our chest! Get letter upon letter from any doctor you can that a breast reduction is needed for you.

Here is a site that could help you with your appeals...

A relative of mine had it done because the weight was causing her severe back pain, and the insurance covered part of it. If you can convince the insurance company that it is the definite cause of a specific health problem, they might cover it.
