you do not like the neighborhood you live in.... but moving is out of the question right now...what can one do to make it torrable to live where one is till you can find the means to move?

Oh, probably go out a lot and just stay away as much as possible until you can move. Not necessarily the best solution, but I'm not sure what else you can do right now if you haven't the means to move. I would visit friends, volunteer, see family, etc., if that's possible. Is there anyone you can stay with from time to time? I do hope your neighborhood is at least safe! Good luck to you.
