If you would like to keep your best friend I would talk to her and see how she feels. There is nothing wrong with dating him, but find out why that is her ex and be honest with her. First impress are usually good behavior.

liek if ur gonna date u should make an agreement that even after the relationship u should still be friends.maybe u should try friend with benifits and taht works out upgrade to a real relationship

Well I would definitely talk to your best friend about it and see what she says if they went out years ago she might not be so upset and she might even think it is a cool idea, one of my friends actually wanted me to date her ex-boyfriend but i was like no thanks it was just to weird for me, she told him to ask me out and everything and I still said no thank you! He was very nice and very cute but she had dated him and i just couldn't........

I'm a believer in the "you don't date your friend's siblings, ex's, or crushes" rule...
but if you are really interested in the guy, then find out from your friend if they would be okay with it.

it might upset your friend so first ask her if she is okay with it. then if it is a yes go for it. if no the i recomend because sooner or later you'll find some body but best friends are hard to find.

From experience, Even if you ask your friend and she says it's okay with her, it may not be. She could just be hiding how she really feels to keep from upsetting your plans.

If you want to remain best friends with your friend you should tell that person first to see why the broke up. He could be abusive etc..........

if you think that this guy is worth more than your friendship then go for it, but if you have to question it, he's probably not! so i would advise you not to, it would just lead to major problems!

if i were you, i would keep my distance from that person because your bestfriend might think that you betrayed her. thats not a good result if it would happen. but i hope it wont.
