Well, let's see we consider Communist China an ally and trade with it and then sanction Cuba. We have turned China on the path to Capitalism and kept Cuba Communist. I would say let's trade, especially as they have oil.

The U.S. shouldn't respond. The people of Venezuela will slowly learn that full on socialism doesn't work. And if you believe, as I do, that Chavez is actually taking over the country, they will learn that totalitarianism is even worse (why else nationalize a t.v. station). What should the U.S. do? Nothing. Sometimes people have to learn the slow hard way. The people in Cuba may have a chance soon to voice their opinion. We'll see what happens.

The first thing the US should do is STOP defining anyone who disagrees with them as "communist." Hugo Chavez is far more "nationalist" than communist and though he does show some socialist leanings calling him a communist reveals lack of credibility and insight to effectively counter him in South America. Being stupid about the politics of South America will lead to failure of any attempt to influence those politics.

Communism is an impossibility. It is a wonderful dream that only leads to socialism and all the problems that brings with it, much like we can never actually have democracy (we were never created as a democracy, we just have certain democratic qualities).

We should fight it. We should oppose it. Now that the socialists in our own country have come out in the open under the name of "Liberal", we should speak up every time and oppose every act.

I'm with the rest of America on this one.

I'm a democrat. Senator Clinton (I'm still being respectful while opposing her goals) does not speak for me and I will never vote for her or any associate of hers that remains silent about her socialist goals.

Nothing. We have no right to interfere in another countries politics or business unless that country is pointing missiles at us.

We do business with China which is the most repressive communist country in the world....no difference.
