If so, will it lead to a Republican landslide, or will they cancel the elections? I was wondering because there seemed to be a bunch of them at "convenient" times for Republicans, like during the Democratic convention.

Oops, I certainly didn't mean to imply that the Republicans would win in that scenario because they're more competent in an emergency. On the contrary, things like the 9/11 Commission report show the opposite. But they are great at making Americans BELIEVE they are.

It does not matter who wins, there is no difference between elephant and jackass, both serve the same masters.

I find this question extremely amusing....You are trying to imply that Republicans will stage an emergency to win an election. Isn't is funny though, that what you really say , by believing it will lead to a Republican landslide is...you don't trust the Democrats to protect you in a time of emergency.
To answer the question though: Probably not now. The terrorists have read your post and don't want a Republican victory. They want those easy to scare off and easy to manipulate Dems in office.

If the Republicans haven't accomplished their mission in Iraq and Iraq (to suck every drop of oil out of those two nations), and if it looks like they need to remain in control to do so, George W. Bush will be ordered, by members of the Bilderberg Conference, to stage another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. This will probably take place in St. Louis or Chicago, somewhere in the 'heartland' so that emotions will run higher than they would if another attack took place in New York City. Then Bush will be ordered to declare martial law and cancel the elections "in the best interests of the nation". Yes, I believe that could happen. -RKO- 06/09/07

If Bush rebounds in the polls, even to 40%, I would worry. He's not above cancelling elections and using some bogus emergency as an excuse to remain in office. After all, without his job title, he's nothing. In fact, he's nothing with it. Expect the worst.

I have it on good authority that the current administration will conduct national emergency program to combat the grass roots movement S.M.A.R.T. (silencing morons by acting with rational thought). This program ( led by our governments best sharp shooter Dick Cheney) main objective will be to halt radical ideology such as questioning leadership and free thought.

no, I think until they feel comfortable, there will be no major catastrophe, that will take about 3 years of a democrat in office.
