If they are SEPARATED then why? ( I just want to see how many peoples parents are still together)....by first marriage.

My parents divorced 30 years ago...my dad was a wife beating alcoholic. They were married 10 years. On the other hand my wife and I, parents of 2 kids, have been married for 19 years with no end in sight. My marriage will be the first in my family to have survived.

Separated by like 2000 miles and two time zones.
Why? They were two people drawn together by animal attraction, had 5 babies, then realized they were never meant to be together. AND, I think my mom thought she could be better than Dad's previous 3 wives. Couple of dummies.

My parents have been together for 40 years... I came along 11 years after they got married..

yes! my parents have been married for almost 30 years!
and they married at age 20 and had 4 kids in 5 years too, so they have been through a lot together but have stayed together.
great example for me :)

My parents are both dead, now. But, while alive they were married for 39 unhappy years! But, they stuck it out that long before my Mother died first. She died in Feb. and that May they would have made it to 40!
