my baby is 7 months old. at her six moth checkup she weighed 17lbs 11oz which was 75% and 27 inches which was 90% for her age. I feed her 6oz formula plus a gerber 2nd of a fruit of my choice Ie. banana, applesauce etc at 630 am every morning. then she gets a 7oz bottle at 1030am. then she has a six ounce bottle of formula with a gerber 2nd veggie of choice like greenbeans, carrots etc at about 130pm. i then feed her a 6oz bottle with a dinner of a 2nd food such as vegetable ckn or sweetpotato abd ckn at about 530pm and finally a 7oz bottle of formula at 800 bedtime. she eats every drop and is really fussy if she misses a meal. does this seem like to much or just right? when we talked to pedi at 6 months we really did not discuss this due to other concerns. we do go back this tuesday but i was curious as to others opinions because i dont agree with every single thing pediatricians say because they all have their own opinions as well.

i would like to have her eating at 8am, 1200pm 430-500pm and bedtime idealy but since she is up every morning at 600 am she is demanding her breakfast instead of playing for a while like my older daughter did when she was an infant. any ideas on how i can make this work or should i just continue what i am doing.

i do carry a sippy cup of water all day with me for her whenever she shows signs of thirst. i just started giving her one baby cookie a day this past week and tried a cup of apple juice with water for the first time today which went well. I do feed my family very well but with her it seems like she is just never full. i would never deny her the nutritious food she needs. again know that every pedi has different opinions since my sister pedi told her one thing , mine said another , this moms told her yet another etc. whether they advise you due to the schooling they recieved or not . example, my pedie told me not to give my daughter apple juice until she was older. my pedi also told me not to start feeding solids until 6 months. some would say 4months or that apple juice is just fine. get the idea.

It does sound like she might need more formula Thur out the day, but if she isn't asking for it she might not need it. As long as she is thriving she should be OK, but still talk to her doctor about this because only her doctor knows for sure

I think that if she was checked out by her pediatrician that one time and they didn't bring it to your attention that something is wrong then you should stop worrying. My first some was in the 110% because he was such a big boy (not fat, tall) and my youngest is only in the 50%. Every baby is different. If it REALLY concerns you then ask the doctor. But he will probably just tell you she is fine. And pediatricians don't run thier practices on thier opinions they run them on what they have learned in medical school. If you feel you cant trust you childs doctor I wouldnt see them anymore.

Oh and if she was eating too much for her little tummy she would be spitting it all up. Babies don't have the ability to overeat like grownups do. Their stomach just rejects the rest after it's full.

The biggest thing that will help you is knowing your daughters cues. If she acts hungry and watches the spoon and you making sure you don't miss any food, try feeding her more then what you are. She might want one and a half jars of food. If she acts uninterested, turns her head or starts to play then she is full. A baby at her age won't overeat, but if she is hungry then she will let you know. Every baby is different, I have a son who wakes up and has to eat right that minute, while my daughter can wait for an hour or so to eat breakfast. Stick with what she wants right now, she will let you know when she needs to eat.

babies between the age of 6-12 months should be taking in 28oz of formula a day. as long as she is getting that much formula she is fine inthat area.
my daugher is 7 months also and only takes 22oz some days, you can't force a baby to eat they will stop whent hey are full and eat when hungry.
you are doing a great job :)

Have you tried putting her to bed later which will ultimately change her eating times. What type of physical activities do you do with her? Is she crawling? Make her crawl around and do little baby aerobics with her so she can burn off some of what she's eating. Also she is old enough to eat foods like spaghetti, macaroni, mashed potatoes. Maybe the baby food is not enough for her. I didn't here you mention water or juice. Try substituting 2 of her bottles with water or juice and a snack like teething cookies or puffs.

That sounds pretty good. Maybe give her a little more formula, and before bedtime give her some rice cereal with her formula. This will fill her up a little more, and hopefully she will sleep in later! It worked with my daughter.

it sounds fine to me, alot like my son was at that age (except he was always off the charts for height and weight)
