Call up the company that ran the promotion for the product and tell them that you were charged for a free trial gift. (Nicely ! ) generally works well.
But first if you can find the add you were looking at, read it over again.

No, I didn't know that. Probably best to go to the actual credit report sites and request your report. Your right you are entitled to one free credit report per year from all three credit reporting agencies. I think the credit companies charge for doing the same work for you and being so called "watch dogs" It is a line of bull crap!

Report it to the Better Business Bureau. www.bbb.org Check to see if there is small print at the bottom of the site stating you would be charged some form of a promotional or shipping and handling fee first.

Read the package that the "trial" product came in. Read your receipt as well. Also, go to the web site and read the site carefully. You probably agreed to the charge and can't do anything about it.

In most states you can lodge a complaint/initiate an investigation with the Attourney General's office. The # is in the phone book or search online.
