Why do I all-of-a-sudden identify with
the great, loved, and much-missed John Candy
who, as Uncle Buck on the phone in the first stages
of the movie, is struggling with the equation
of explaining to his girlfriend,
"Lemme--just gimme--ya hafta--if you'd--wait just a...awww!!"

Yes, dear, there are good and faithful men in the world. Mine has been for nearly 24 years. It takes work to find one and work to keep one, but they're out there.
