Could be a number of things? How long has this been happening? Try on of these two suggerstions:

If running XP: Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->System Restore

Select a date from the calendar before this started happening, and restore to that date.

Or, you could try LKGC: Restart your laptop, and as soon as it starts booting, tap your F8 key until you get a boot menu with Safe Mode as an option. Use your arrow key to move the cursor down to Last Known Good Configuration, and hit Enter. Your latop will then reboot.

It sounds like you may have a hijack or other maleware problem; update antivirus and scan; see if that stops the problem.
