idk. it depends on how old

Hmm..I do know some people that have actually done that. I would say that it all depends on the age and sex of the child. If your child is a girl, and you are a woman, I would say it is okay until about age 5. But, If your child is a boy and you are a woman, then I would say at maximum, age 3. Then, you have unwanted curiosity. But, remember, it can be dangerous. A lot of kids get hurt in the shower. My 2 year old cousin was taking a shower with her mom and slipped and knocked her tooth out. I would say a bath would be your best bet!!

I think the answer to this question can be yes or no. Children do not innately know how to use proper hygiene. We bathe them as babies but as they grow, they need to become more independent. However, in the "transition" age, when they are too old for baths, but not quite old enough to shower independently, I believe that showering with a parent, with limitations, can be beneficial. First, I think it is important that when possible the parent should be of the same sex as the child. As a single parent, however, I realize this is not always possible. Also, it is important to allow the child to act independently, cleaning themselves and washing their own hair. You should be there to act as a moderator. I know that my daughter sometimes needs help getting shampoo out of her hair. But, just like riding a bike, it comes with practice. We wouldn't want our children doing that without our help. With this said though, I think there has to be a level of comfort that must be met. If the parent is uncomfortable, then other options should be explored. A suggestion I have that has been helpful for me is to wear a bathing suit. That makes the situation feel a little more comfortable and can help avoid some of the awkward questions that may arise about "grown up" anatomy.

Hope that helps...

TAxi PLow hear.
Dont you ever play in the shower with the child in the shower. it is wrong to do it in the shower with a child. do it with your husband or wife 4 all i care.
dont take your little baby with you in the shower without undies/panties on. your child must think its ok BUT IT ISN'T

queen jj hear. i agree with TAxi PLow, but i have more to say. if you really want to wash the child, let the child take a bath! and you dont go in the bathtub with the child naked! omg...thats completely wrong and i dont care what other people say! its wrong and gross-tacular! over and out wierd one

Depends on the age of the child, I guess. Under 4, not at all. If the kid is 12...then there's some HUGE issues, eh.

If the kid is up to age 4-5 it's getting risky. You have to protect the child's growing sense of gender and modesty. Beyond 5.....let them bathe alone, with help if they need it.

No, as long as your child isn't 18 or something. Most people take showers with their child, this is their way of learning.,

no, my son showers with both me and my wife. It is nothing sexual. We have raised him not to be embarrased by being naked. My wife is European and being naked around others especially your family is normal. Americans need to loose their inhibitions regarding the human body. Why is it we can watch all sorts of meaningless depravity in movies but when we hear about a parent being naked with their child we freak out?
