Yes, seeing a dog of any size with sores all over their body where they have licked themselves raw. Those cones are to stop that, so a wound or operation can heal properly.

aaawwwwwww, poor doggy. My friend's rat once had to have a cone collar on, it was like the smallest pet cone I'd ever seen. The poor rat was so frustrated.

Once the sore or incision (that they keep messing with) heals, they'll get the cone collar off!

it might be pathetic to you but it is for protection by order of the vet for various reasons. its not permanant its only temporary.
