I think crying out of cowardice (for example, to make someone do something, like pity you) is a sign of weakness, but letting out your feelings after something tough (like a death or not doing well on a test) is brave.

I don't think holding in emotions is a healthy thing to do. However, there are more appropriate times to express emotions than others. For example, the other day, I reacted very strongly to something my professor said. It wasn't appropriate at the time to cry (I was in class), but after I was with my boyfriend, the floodgates opened. The next day, I told my professor that what he said (which wasn't directed at me personally) upset me.

It's never ever a sign of weakness. It's just the way you feel at the time and human emotion. If you cry at a funeral it would be a sign of remorse. If you cry during a movie it would be a sign that something touched you.

it isn't a sign of either .. it's an emotional release. everybody can cry, it does not suggest they are being weak or strong, it is how they handle their life, situations, factors and decisions they make that will show their strength and weakness.

Depends on what your crying about. If you just got a papercut and you start crying alot then yeah, its probly weakness. But if its something iether emotional like your girlfriend or boyfriend just left you or if you break a bone then crying is helping you get your emotions out so they dont bottle up and makes you stronger.

I say strength. Because it is easy to hide your feelings. It takes trust and vulnerability to cry in front of others. At least for me.

I say strength, it's easy to deny your feelings and hide, it takes strength to have the courage to feel and show what you feel.
