You are not hurting the baby at all. Although you may feel uncomfortable, you aren't hurting your baby. You'd be surprised what your baby can endure. Childbirth is much more traumatic then you sitting down. Just try to stay comfortable!

By the way - I am also 36 weeks pregnant also :-) My baby hasn't dropped though. This is also my 3rd pregnancy so I doubt it will happen until labor.

No you can't harm your baby by sitting. There is plenty of fluid and support around her keeping her safe. Plus babies bones aren't hard for a reason - they have to go through the birth canal, so they haven't fully hardened and won't for some time...

Relax - and enjoy your last few weeks!

No the baby is still completely surrounded by amniotic fluid unless your water has broke. It is perfectly safe. By the way even after your water breaks it is still safe to sit. I labored most of the time with my children in a rocking chair. Don't worry, Congrats and Good Luck!

I was fully effaced and 3 cm. dilated with a baby who'd dropped way down and was fully ready to come out ... and spent four weeks with nothing to do but sit and lie down in the hospital. He was born with quite the cone head, but it didn't hurt him any. :)
The only real problem is that it's probably pretty uncomfortable for you. You'll have to experiment to find positions that don't feel like sitting on a bowling ball. For me, it was leaning to one side and propping myself up with pillows.

Are you serious? Do you think you have to stand for the rest of your pregnancy? Of course it can't hurt your baby...she is protected in her amniotic sac...and while it might feel like you are sitting on her head, you aren't so don't stress! My God, the questions on here just get sillier every day!

No, you will do no harm to the baby by sitting. You are feeling the pressure from everything getting ready for birthing. It is natural!

Congratulations!!!

you know what mommy the baby inside the womb is actually inside a ballon with water on ti so literally whatever you make or what moves you make he will not be harmed because he will just bounce back and forth..that is why for the first trimester of your baby it is still okay to have sex because the baby inside will not be moved..don't be afraid for that mommy your baby is safe.._c",)
