I think the media has been directly responsible for Paris Hilton's ordeal. I think she should be given a break. Poor girl, it must be a tough life with the paparazzi hounding you every minute.

Give her a break you say????

Poor girl? I can send you links to over a hundred children who deserve pity. Children who have cancer, children who have been abused, children who are homeless.

Poor woman? What about the battered women? What about the single moms working 3 jobs to support 2 kids?

I have no sympathy here. This "Poor Girl" was raised with a silver spoon in her mouth. She has no concept of reality.

It is not acceptable to drive drunk. When you get your license suspended...it means DO NOT DRIVE. I would think her famous team of attorneys could have explained even a simple concept like that to her. Yet she drove & got busted...not once, but twice.

I tell my kids, and I would tell Paris this too....Every action has a reaction. Use your head, before you make a decision and think about the consequences. This "Poor Girl" has never been held accountable, and the one time she is people pity her.

NOT ME. SHE NEEDS TO SERVE HER TIME AND SHUT HER MOUTH!!!

Maybe next time she is about to act stupid, she will think twice.

First of all, was the media responsible for her drunk driving? I don't think so. That was a choice that she made, and now she's dealing with the consequences. And no one can say that her punishment was too harsh - 45 days in jail is not long. And then she even got it shortened to 23 for "good behavior" even though she hadn't started serving her time yet. AND she got special treatment, being placed in a more private cell away from the other inmates and whatnot!

And okay, sure, the paparazzi is not making what she's going through right now any easier. But she brought that upon herself. She's always been in the limelight; she seems to crave the attention. Does she think that because she did something wrong, the media will ignore it? That the media will glorify her, tell of only the good things she does?

My point is.. I could *almost* agree with you. But as I said, she brought all this upon herself, it's her own fault, and she needs to just deal with it.

She is really being punished because of her celebrity.

BTW,Paris Hilton is disappearing from advertisements for a South Korean sportswear firm.
Last December, Fila Korea signed a one-year contract with Hilton that is reportedly worth US$1-million.

Poor girl, exposing herself in public, signing contracts for multimillion dollar television shows, movies and commercials. Poor, neglected Paris always in the spotlight being hounded by the evil paperazzi.

Lemme tell you something, there are plenty of celebs who are out there that aren't in the media spotlight ALL THE TIME because they do not WANT to be. They tell people to back off.

Paris LOVES the attention. She did this to herself, she broke the law and now she has to pay the consequences. Did you see Martha Stewart crying and whining and looking all sad and pitiful to gain media attention when she served time for insider trading? Nope, because it's all about maturity level.

As a mom, I don't want drunks on the road. She is very lucky that she did not kill someone. She is an "adult" and should of took her probation more seriously. Now, she is suppose to pay for her crime. Rich people find loopholes all the time. I'm glad that finally one will have to be treated like the rest of us. Do the crime, and do the time. Your Blackberry needs a break, anyway.

Oh I know, such a victim that Paris is. The media had her drink alcohol until she was past the legal driving limit, and then had her drive anyway. Once law enforcement suspended her driver's license, media was responsible for her driving anyway. Certainly the law doesn't apply to poor-Paris. I agree with you 100%!

I feel bad for her in a way because I think she truly is terrified of the whole ordeal and I don't like to see anyone suffer. On the other hand, she could have killed someone with her drunk driving, so she needs to learn.

Kinda gives new meaning to "Simple Life".......

i know.. people shouldn't treat her like that the paparazzi has been chasing her and she's already on the news but on the other side people are saying that she should be treated the same as everyone else who is in jail. i don't understand it's one side or the other. also she has done a horrible thing and that's why she's in jail.

No man! Paris Hilton is responsible for Paris Hilton's ordeal.
Nobody told her to drive drunk, & nobody told her to drive on a suspended licence.

BTW, can't she afford a chauffeur?

first of all, she loves being the center of attention, its her world. you shouldnt be sorry for her because shes not!
second of all, her sentence is no longer that it would be for the average person so its not like they are really picking on her or anything.
i like paris, shes interesting but she broke the law and put peoples lives in danger including her own so she should be punished and have to deal with it.

she is getting a break, normally she would have lost her licence by now.
