July 4th is the day that we, in the United States, celebrate our independence. It's, supposedly, the day the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. We celebrate by shooting off fireworks, and many people have barbeques. Hope that helps.

Is this a serious question or just one to allow people to score an easy "two points", and maybe 10. Of course, with a name like "Singapore", I can understand your not knowing that we call it Independence Day here in the United States and it commemorates the day back in 1776 when our "Forefathers" signed the Declaration of Independence from England, which truly "got underway" the beginning of this great country. But then, still, you should know this answer, such as what does Bastille Day stand for, or May Day or Texas Independence Day. Oh well, I hope this helps you. God Bless you.
