They made two bed lengths. Not sure of exact length.

On cab plus models, they all had the short bed, but on the long frame. On regular cab models, the long bed pickups had a two piece drive shaft with a center CV joint. Short frame pickups had a one piece drive shaft.

yes I believe they did make an 8 foot bed on some of there older pickups. One of my friend's dad has one and it is definitely longer than 6 ft. I am comparing it to our dakota which has a 6'6" bed and it is definitely longer
