80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The purpose of life appears to be vivid basing on place, time and person. Every person has got his own world created, his own arena to roam in, own canvas of green pasture to walk through, own concept to float, own belief to nurture and work with, and a very short time-distance allotted to travel once for all surely. So the purpose of life varies from person to person. Even after that the true essence, melody and tune of love, the bitterly expression of hatred, the roaring of hunger and the ever thirsty inquisitiveness for knowing the unknown always remain the same-- even amongst all the creations. From this simple analysis one might arrive at the decision that the purpose of life could be 'being GOOD and Humane within and also outwardly', it could be 'taking the Legacy of Life, Love,Time and the Creation in Totality to their sacred height of Eternity'. Whatever Goodness is possessed by anyone, he or she does not possess that for self only; rather all others i.e. the entire entity where he or she lives in, has its share in that certainly. The above could be the purpose of life precisely.

what is life ? what is alive and what is not alive ?

A human is made up of cells hich are made up of atomes which are made up of particles, the same particles that make up a lump of iron. When does the particles become " alive" ?

We cannot not know if there is a purpose to lfe untill we can define life

Howver a more refined question should be " what is the purpose of MY life?" now that will take some answering !!

The Purpose of Life. A lot of people answer it as awaiting death. But is there a death? No. Death is simply the lack of life. So...the meaning of life....here it is through my perspective.

Have you ever seen someone standing against a wall with their head down and arms crossed? (Or something similar to that). Have you? And if you have...had you ever went up to that person and said hello? And if you have done that...have you ever asked the person ''Hey, what's the matter?" Have you?
90% people would answer No to all these questions..., but you know what, deep down, all 100% people will also know that this is what they should have done.
Have you ever, even for the littlest thing, put a smile on a crying face? If you have....then you know....to understand my answer...would be quite simple.

Have you ever just sat atop a tree watching the sun dive behind the horizon and letting all your day’s worries just was away with it. Have you?

Have you ever just looked from a mountain and yelled something just to hear it echo back to you?

Have you ever just put on running shoes and take a run outside just 'cause?

Have you ever removed your shoes, spread your arms, and dance in the rain? Have you?

Have you ever screamed at the top of your lungs in a residential area.

Have you ever observed a tiny creature and felt that it could understand you?

Have you ever really just sat down on white puffy snow and tried to eat the snowflakes that fall from the sky?

Have you ever just sang a song for no reason, just to cheer someone up?

Have you?
Have you?
Have you?
Because if you haven't, then I greatly feel sorry for you, because doing all this....just living like it was your last day on earth and putting smiles on other faces...is the true purpose of life.

Go on. Do at least on of the things I've mentioned on this answer of mine. Trust me; you'll realize why I've said that it is the true meaning of life.

I have answered this question so many times. The more i think about it, i start to wonder. Could it be that there is no true reason, meaning to life on earth. What if we simple exsist due to an accident. What if we just exsist! For no purpose.

uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations, and, finally, here are some completely gratuitous pictures of penises to annoy the censors and to hopefully spark some sort of controversy, which, it seems, is the only way, these days, to get the jaded, video-sated public off their ******* arses and back in the sodding cinema. Family entertainment bollocks. What they want is filth: people doing things to each other with chainsaws during tupperware parties, babysitters being stabbed with knitting needles by gay presidential candidates, vigilante groups strangling chickens, armed bands of theatre critics exterminating mutant goats-- Where's the fun in pictures? Oh, well, there we are. Here's the theme music. Goodnight.

There is no definition. we grow up thinking that there is only one best way to live. There is not. life is not a game where you have a study guide. we are to be who we are to be. Realize some of the greatest people in life are the ones that did new things.
