Call the officer's department and speak with the internal investigations supervisor immediately. The officer was out of line.

You should have called 911 immediately while he was in your home. You should always keep your door locked, especially if you have kids. Sounds like your baby sitter either has a loose screw, knew you were trying to cheat her or needed money for drugs.

He had no grounds for an arrest if you told us the whole story. Call the police department, speak to a supervisor, and file a complaint. He will lie his way out of it, but it will be on record and help the next person he abuses in this manner. Get a copy of the complaint so that you know they put it on paper. You could sue, but it would be hard to find an attorney to take the case. If you had to go to ER then that is a different story, you could get representation.

Why did you neglect to tell us how the standoff ended? I would not have paid her then and maybe not at all due to the hassle.

The police have th eguns and they think they can do anything they want..someone has to stand up to them...it sounds like you have a case for the "abusive power" clause. You might want to look into it. What was the cop going to arrest you for..getting dressed? Is that illegal where you live?

As for the babysitter - get rid of her...anyone who would scream, yell and bite the hand that feds them needs to find a new boss. I wouldnt want my kids around a person like that, they might pick up some bad habits. I am sure there are a bunch of good babysitters around he ni\eighborhood that you can trust for more then this one.

The babysitter probably overreacted, and the police officer had absolutely no business entering your home unless he suspected imminent danger (he heard gunshots or saw smoke from a fire, for example), had probable cause that a crime was being committed, or he had a warrant.

You should pay your babysitter immediately after services rendered. I would guess you probably will from here on.

The babysitter may have lied to him... Otherwise he can't come into the house uninvited. He must have reasonable proof of you doing something wrong. I would file a complaint with the police department, not pay a penny to the babysitter and counetersue her when and if she takes you to small claims.

wouldn't this be avoided if you paid the babysitter on time???...I mean if you work for the entire week and your company "forgets" to pay you when they are supposed to ...and you need the money (obviously, why would you be working if you don't, right?) wouldn't you react the same way as the babysitter? I'm sorry but people like you make me sick...now what? you're trying to make this a bigger deal that it is....PAY THE BABYSITTER ON TIME, don't hire someone if you can't pay....they need the money too...you know?!!!

i take it this is a true story.okay you need to go higher to the police dept[did you see officers name plate on his shirt]and lodge a formal complaint also ring the toll free legal service for your area ands ask them for legal advice[there are different laws for different states etc]you need to counter charge the babysitter.[this shows the court that you are not agreeing with her sayings etc]but definetely cool down dont make things harder for yourself by losing control this says a lot today in a court of law.yellow pages has all free legal numbers ring now.
