The other day I was at the local Mcdonalds it was hot outside and I could tell the cook was sweating real bad. I had to leave, it honestly made me sick. What if he got the sweat on my burger or fries. I couldn't believe there was a bigline and no one else was leaving or they didn't notice.I guess I am being oversensitive, but does anyone else have hangups like this about eating out or the people fixing your food when you do?

Well, of course, it's really gross. Honestly, he probably did not get sweat on your flipping fries. Have you ever worked in a kitchen? Then, you have no room to flipping talk. Working in a kitchen is like working outside, especially in the summer. We cooks don't have it easy. Yes, there is A/C, but it cannot keep up with the heat at all. It is almost 90 degrees in our kitchen on some days, and when we are busy, there is no relief at all. It isn't to the point of where the sweat is dripping off of you, but you are sweaty. So, chances are, there was not sweat in your food, but, almost every restaurant you go to in the summertime, the cooks are all hot and sweaty. So, either quit complaining or cook you flipping food for yourself and quit going out to eat all the time. And, Pandora is wrong, if the bathrooms are dirty, it doesn't mean the kitchen is dirty, too. We have a special maintenance crew that cleans our bathrooms, besides the cleaning crew that cleans the attached bar in the morning cleaning them. Us cooks clean our own kitchen, and our city health inspector has numerously said we have one of the cleaner kitchens in town, and actually eats our food himself. So, no, the bathrooms have no clue as to how the kitchen looks.

Yes it bothers me!

that is one reason why I don't eat fast food, I have seen them take the garbage out and then go fry a Burger without washing their hands, also saw them sneeze, cough and right on the food. I hate fast food and I only eat it if I absolutely have to.
I am a cook and I am very careful. I wash my hands all the time and wear somethig around my head if I sweat, however I keep a fan on too along with the air conditioner, or I won't cook.

hey it's your choice in where you eat and where you chose not to eat at. if it was me and saw someone sweating in the kitchen, i would watch for a moment to see what they wipe the sweat on or if it driped or not from the person. when i worked as a grill cook at a nice sit down resturant before, i was sweating too. i had my hairnet held down with a sweat band and chef hat. i had long sleeves for my uniform and it felt like i was out in the desert in a metal box. the ovens, the fryer, the grills, the dishwasher...all going at one time with just a small ventilation hood will do that to a person especially when you're trying to cook 50 plus orders at one time. then again i wouldn't know if it's dirty with other places where the cooking is behind doors. if you don't cook it, it's hard to know. i'm more worried about the waiter that blew his nose and spit into a tissue, wiped his hands on his pants, ran his hands through his hair and then bringing my drink to the table with his hands on the rims. only happened once, but being a waitress before i've seen some of the staff do worse.

This happens everywhere for one. Just think about it, they are cooking all kinds of food cooking back there.Wich means lots of heat! You have french fryers, grills, and chicken fryers. They can't have air conditioning right in their face because then it will cool the food down. And the sweat doesn't get in the food! It is very stressful and fast paced and you expect people not to sweat? If you are that worried then I would suggest not eating out ANYWHERE.And they do wear gloves!

I would have to wonder myself . Ugh !!!!!!
Not only that do they wash there hands when they go to the "RESTROOM ", I guess we're glad we dont no .
I myself just feel like the cleaner the restaurant , maybe the better . Although when tv had all these "MOTELS" on tv and how some of the 5 star ones weren't clean , makes you wonder wherever we go .
We all have to hope for the best there're for sure .

At least at McDonald's you can see what's going on in the back. Some of those really nice restaurants that you spend big money at, you have no idea what kind of food preparation process they are using. They could be spitting in your food for all you know.

McDonalds is the worst
I have boycotted this place since 2005 as they are awful
Today, pick up my friend to get a ride to work
She wanted breakfast and drive through
Again they got it wong.
This is the saddest of the FF places.

YUCK I agree, I'd have left too!
I've a friend who checks out the restrooms and if they aren't clean we leave. She is a firm believer that if the bathrooms are unsanitary that so is the kitchen.

Mcdonalds definetly is the most unsanitary place to eat ever. Most fast foods are run by druggies and the food is made out of ****. I think the sweat on that guy needs less worry than whats going into your body
