Bush seeks immigration action / Stephen Dinan
President Bush, stung by Thursday's vote to block the immigration bill, is telling Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to put it back on the Senate's schedule, and the bill's supporters say they think it can be resurrected. (Nation/Politics)

The Democrats will need his help. They shot themselves in the foot the past two elections with those horrible nominees.

Hey Genius. In case you CHOSE not to read the Senate votes (Which I am sure you didn't) it was the DEMOCRAT Senators who voted 36 to 13 FOR the Immigration Bill. It was the REPUBLICANS who voted 36 to 13 to PREVENT this P.O.S. Bill.

So come 2008, who will be the first Democrat Candidate to say "I voted for it, Before I voted Against it".???

I don't agree with him on this issue but in fairness he has been consistent on immigration which goes back to his Texas Governor days.

And clearly you should know by now that Bush picks the path he thinks is right. Not the path he thinks will get him or his party more popularity points.

In the end, Americans respect leadership more than poll watching opportunism.

Actually if anything the Immigration Bill helped Republicans. The American Public will be greatful to Republicans who opposed this stupid bill.

maybe he wants the democrats to win in 08 so that they inherit the Iraq war and look incompetent when they cant fix things, so in the future they'll blame the democrats for the failure in Iraq!
