Why or why not?

Well, really, the theory of an afterlife and religion is just so people have a sense of comfort in knowing what is out there, and feel better about when it is there time to go. Now, that doesn't mean that there could be. Who's to say there isn't? Even if there truly isn't, there's no way to know or find out, so why not go on believing that there is, and feeling peace? Although, if there isn't it sort of makes you appreciate life more knowing that the only thing coming is nothing.

A vast majority of people in the world believe in reincarnation and the existence of the soul travelling through many bodies and through many lifetimes. Why?

It is the only thing that makes sense. Why is one person born rich and talented and another poor and disabled? What gives one person the luck of the draw and not another? Why do we have the experiences we have?

When we look at the bigger picture of nature, the flow of the seasons, the weather, the cycles there is perfection and inevitability about the world that seems to be missing in human life. There is no natural progression that we can see in man's birth, life and death when comparing people and their circumstances. Or is there?

The only thing that makes sense is that there is a bigger picture that we cannot see. In a lifetime, if we were reaping the consequences of a past life, then everything suddenly becomes fair and just. Our life becomes a result of what we have done and put in place before.

You need to practice delving beyond the surface. Try some yoga and be alone in nature. Do this every day. Try to practice not thinking at all to become more at peace with yourself. when you meet your spiritual guide you will understand that yes, there is an afterlife, but only those who practice going beyond the surface can actually see this and we have too many blocks (computers, tv, games, etc.) to practice peace. I have met my spiritual guide. He has quite the sense of humor and too many coincidences happen in my life not to believe in God and an afterlife. I believe in Karma and Yingyang. Like for example...when I broke my foot, it was 1/2 an hour before the main office of my work closed so I called to schedule an appointment to intertwine with the med clinic which I already had a first appointment for the bee sting I had the week before. Also, when I taught a unit on fairy tales, there just happened to be 3 sunday cartoons with fairy tales as the theme that I xeroxed and gave to my students. Not a coincidence. The Lord speaks to me daily. It's important to listen.

Yes, but its not that great.....It will be pretty similar to the current feelings you have right now about your life but in a different environment. You will have a different afterlife depending on when you die, because at different points in your life you have different feelings about the world, and these feelings remain when you are re-born.

Some advice....you could reincarnate....or, go to your own realm (i.e. "heaven" or "hell") where you can imagine anything you want to - which then becomes your little "reality"....but your imagination is based only on your past experience...A strong "faith" can manifest a person a "heaven" (with the clouds and the gates and the halo's and wings) but i imagine that they would get a shock if they found it was only their imagination that manifested it...

But then again you could completely die altogether......

So, either way.....ENJOY YOUR EXISTENCE.

Well to me it's not philosophy, it's physics. In particle physics there is no field theory better than M-theory, unfortunately a blot of branch geometry which holds no solid meaning relaitve to space time since the root of all geometries is Projective Geometry; but there is a theory in the library of congress entitled "Infinite Universe" copyright 2003 I think it was that shows how all force interactions can work together using nothing but particles. If you could study this theory the way I have, you'd realize that every atom has larger paired particles trapped within certain arrangements that make it possible for these to seperate (lithium salts are one of the most pertinent) into their own existence in a 'higher density space'.... which means that such particle groups have the ability to exist in 'altered time' which is really just a fancy way of saying they are affected by larger neutrino particles to make their mechanics happen. Basicall after you die, you will somehow find or be helped perhaps to a point nearer the galaxy center where higher density space exists as a minimum; where boson particles arrange in sets of 4 at minimum, never 3 (the max is 9 based on 2d plane as ex.) . Such a place would allow everything to be transluscent or tra nsparent except one element; gold, which centrally houses a large Higgs boson inside 8 smaller ones- and using any geometry this arrangement reflects any form of radiation because of how the atoms work inside. Elements of the periodic table all arrange these bosons around themselves, the two work together- kind of a yin and yang. Well hope this answers something for you. Even after we die, and go to this place, there are yet 5 more levels of density. I believe that whomever came up with the Revelations must have known this as it was brought up cryptically; "There are 7 Kingdoms, 5 have fallen, 1 is , and 1 is yet to come." Also "Roundabout in the middle in a sea of glass is the water of life." ...I would suspect this must mean the point where 2 funnels of the supermassive dual funnel black hole collide to break boson particles into smaller pieces and spit them out as all matter known in every time/space density.

No. We are no different from animals and bugs. If we all had souls there's be an aweful lot of mosquitos in heaven. :) The concept of an afterlife is our way to cope with the fear of death. Think about how the Bible portrays heaven, with pearly gates and made of gold. Those are materialistic things that we humans like, so that is what we make out Heaven/afterlife to resemble in our minds.

Afterlife refers to the potential of experiencing a different dimensional experience in this physical lifetime by transcending the learned self and return to being.

Personal identity is impermanent. The death of one identity permits the birth of another. The afterlife belongs to another life.

I believe there is an afterlife.. I know there is. I have friends who have died or crossed over then came back to life & lived to talk about what they saw.

Those who lack empathy may return to experience the anguish they imposed on others in their past life. I believe we retain bits of past life experiences that ultimately shape our psyche for each new life. Meow. . .
