Actually, I think my mom trained me from birth to put the seat down. LOL, so what i have done with this situation, i put the seat down and the lid also. That way the ladies have to raise the lid before they can sit on the toilet.
I've had some of the females in my house ask me why i do this, and I just smile and say if you don't like it, get over it or we can all agree to leave them up.

I have no choice in the matter except lift the seat up because if I dont then the boys dont and I have to wipe the seat before I sit down. The toilets are big enough so there shouldn't be any reason for missing but they do and its me that has to clean up after them and the ladies at work say the same why cant males aim properly instead of it going everywhere.

Toilet seats are DESIGNED, for aesthetic as well as for practical purposes, to be in the down position AND with the lid closed (when not in use, of course). I can never understand why men lift them - surely it doesn't create THAT much extra width. Also why is their aim so bad when they have the perfect means to "point Percy at the porcelain"???

Because the toilet see should be down.... not up...
not just for the women...
think about how many children fall in the toilet because the toilet see was up....

Never thought of it that way before! We could learn, but ...........
sorry guys, it's far more hygienic to put both the seat and lid down before flushing! The germs fly everywhere if you don't, and do you really want to clean your teeth then!!!!
Not much point opening it again afterwards, is there?

I don't really know.
..but did you see the movie 'Something about Smith?' - I think it was that movie, starring Jack Nicholson. Since he never learnt to put the seat back down again, his wife trained him to sit on it, do it the way the wife does - !
...now that's a thought for all you women out there......................
