Of course. What if you loved and lost, is it OK to love the person you lost out to? If they now find that they really loved you to start with, and they realise that they are still in love with you and you realise that you feel the same?
Does that work?

That actually depends. You can't fall in love with anybody just so. If you realized that there in fact is another person for you, then of course you should be able to love them.
