PCI-E and PCI-Express are the same thing. It is quicker and easier to abbreviate PCI-Express to PCI-E when chatting to other PC savvy guys.
A previous replier said "pci-e is for video cards. pci express is on server motherboards where the pci slot is exctended to allow for a 64bit pci card. some people need to do their home work." He was only partially correct. What he was referring to was PCI-X (never called PCI-Express or PCI-E) which was quite literally an extension of the old PCI socket which added more pins and extended it from 32-bits to 64-bits. PCI-X sockets were only ever found on server motherboards and are totally different from the PCI-Express sockets on modern motherboards.
Despite the similar name, the two sockets are totally different in function; PCI and PCI-X use a parallel interface while PCI-Express (or PCI-E) is a much faster serial interface.

No diff between x1 and 1x. yet verify the specifications of the cardboard. because of the fact theres PCI-E x16 it is long and PCI-E x1 it is short. in basic terms seem the cardboard up on line, and if the area you insert is short, than you'l be solid with a 1x. x16 are in many situations for photographs enjoying cards in many situations.
