Just ask the conductor or driver when you board if smoking is permitted, it may and may not be, the law states no one is permitted to smoke in enclosed public spaces.
All visitors to note on the 1st of July 2007 smoking in enclosed public spaces is not permitted anywhere in the UK.

well most bus operators have a no smoking policy now on their buses, and that policy does not exclude open top buses, so unenclosed or not.
The new law prohibits smoking in any vehicle which carries memebers of the public so no you cannot smoke on an open top bus.

Well as you can't smoke on them now,you still wont be able to smoke from them when this stupid law comes into effect!

the law says any public place and a bus is just that.
A privately hired one might be exempt but then the driver would have to agree

1 st of July it comes into force in England .No you cant smoke on an open toped bus cos its a public conveyance

I can see that you have been thinking about this. You probably can at present, but the zealots will not be happy until they have banned it altogether. They are currently taking a break from annoying smokers and have moved on to annoying drinkers, having stopped temporarily to snipe at fatties.
