i just bought a toshiba but i didnt buy any security measures so now it doesnt have any internet securities i want to download AT&T online protection does it work with vista? right now i have nothing on my laptop to protect me but after i install and use the internet, will my laptop immediately be contaminated with a virus? if the first thing i do is download AT&T online protection will it protect me? thank you so much!!

well,
its possible to have a computer infected by surfing without Any protection for just 3 sec. Security measures should be a firewall, a anti-virus (not Norton, usually paid), and an anti-spyware. You should only have 1 anti-virus and 1 firewall, and 1 anti-spyware with real-time protection. A security suite is fine.
ZoneAlarm has the best security suite while McAfee has the best anti-virus

You'd best choose your anti-virus quick because taking one step onto the net without protection can get you infected. That's the same with anti-spy ware, anytime your on line without it and your exposing your privacy to others.
