I've been a singe for 15 years...I use 3 different things for 3 different symptoms.

For a stuffy nose use Vicks Vapor rub or Tiger Balm on the end of your nose.

For a congested/sore throat, Chammomille and a bit of honey or bit of real licorice.

For a congested chest, put a tbsp of peppermint extract into a teapot with 1 cup of water...then breath in the steam after it starts to boil (put a towell over your head and breath it in!)

And depending on your age...nothing cures congestion better than Jim Beam Black and Coke.

Hi, I am a singing teacher and this is something that as a teacher we have continual struggles. There are somethings you might like to try,
1. hold your hand in front of your mouth (about half a hand away from your mouth) and sing into your hand.
2. pinch your nose gently then sing. I am not sure whether this will work or not for you as I am only just experimenting with this technique and have found that it worked with one student who was particularly bad.

A nasal sound is a problem particularly found in NZ and France. Hope this may help, though no guarantees as the shape of the nose or any previous injuries also has a large effect.
