LOLOL ... absolutely "yes"
uhhh .. I would have a bit a nit-pick about using the word "a"
as in " *A* midlife crisis"
for some people, there are several crises of the mid-life flavor
opinions may vary on whether it's biochemical in nature or 'psychological' or sociological or a mixture (of varying proportion of these 3 and others that I can't think of right now)
... but the awareness of the tenuous nature of life / security and trying to juggle 'n' struggle to maintain home-life and role-fulfillments throughout the joys (sic) of keeping the wolf away from the door [among other things] just *do* wear away on a guy's sense of well-being around about 40/50 whatever ... it's not a fun thing to gfo thru for a man or for those around him either most likely
from a "give-advice" position, I'd have to recommend giving communication a priority ... as well as "understanding" ...
it's tough to understand and communicate without being .... uhh ... obtrusive or maybe even condescending or aggressive .... it's a tough balancing act maybe. .and I guess a person might even feel like "why should *I* have to make all this effort to pamper a crumy attitude ...? "
and I don't have any good answer for that .. except that maybe "how would I feel if sometimes pepople didn't cut *me* some slack sometimes ?"
and maybe that "in a few yeares time looking back it will have been ok to have gone thru"
or maybe I just see it differently
he might be in that psychic-pain called "midlife-crisis"
it's real tho and fairly painful
I don't think yelling does much good
good luck
:)
patience, humor, tolerance .. etc all the stuff that you yourself would like to receive when you are having a bad day?

I do believe it! I think many many men go through a sort of period/crisis where their hormones and thoughts ideas etc are off kilter. And it does seem to happen around 40-50 years. I've also heard the term "andropause" in that what they go through being somewhat similar to a womans menopause, and just like women some have it way worse then others. Not that him being a jerk to you should be excused or even that "a mid-life crisis" should excuse his "misbehaviour" BUT yes, perhaps it will just take some time to work itself out of his system. Support him, listen to him, talk him to counselling if it gets bad, and I believe (not positive) there are certain herbs and vitamins/minerals that may help him. Just, if I was you, (not saying he will but...) I'd watch for those other signs of male midlife crisis...I'm sure I don't have to tell you what I'm thinking.
So, I guess I'm saying, yes they can have a midlife crisis and to put up with it, but seek help if it gets ridiculous!

I think your husband has a guilty conscience and is feeling the need for some speed. A man is like a fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

I think , they finally reach the age where they feel life passing them by. feel vulnerable of the fact that their getting older, and some of them at that stage tend to go over board in trying to prove that it isn't true. And that they can still attract younger women, Defiantly on his way to old fartdom. yup!

Yeah, we do. For me, it was work related, but did reflect into family life. Started my own business and am much happier than I have been in some time.
