Limewire is one of those quirky little things that quite often have trouble connecting.
Try reinstalling it.
I run LimeWirerPro 4.12.6, purchased of Ebay for around a dollar, and it works fine.
When I do have problems connecting, I just close it completely down and try again later.

try using a different port in the options. restart limewire, then reset the port back to what it was and restart again.
if that doesnt work, uninstall limewire and reinstall it.
