They may very well crumble under the expectations this year. Just because they go out and grab big name people doesn't make then a lock for the Super Bowl. The Redskins have been know for going out and grabbing the big names and look where that gets them ever year. I'm sorry to scare the Pats fans but the Brady does not throw deep often, they play a safe offense, and if you don't believe me just look at his average yards per pass over the years compared to all the other top QBs (much less). This means that Moss can not be utilized as people think he will be. Only time will tell so lets not crown anyone yet.

To start off with I hate the Patriots, but...
The Patriots have been the best franchise in the 2000s. And they have been expected to get thumped (Super Bowl vs St. Louis) and have been expected to do the thumping. They have had distractions and hold outs (Ty Law, Deion Branch) and still they perform year in year out.
Tom Brady has had 4 interception games; throwing interceptions is part of a quarterback's life. I don't think Moss will go off on Tom Brady because Tom Brady is coolest quarterback under pressure I have ever seen. One day people will be saying things like "Tom Brady is so tough that just mentioning his name got Bridget Moynahan pregnant."
The only way this team is going to possibly crumble is if something happens to Tom Brady or the defense gets banged up. The defense is starting to get pretty up there in age: Teddy Bruschi and Rodney Harrison are no spring chickens. Asante Samuel is a hold out.
But Billy Belicheck (sp) is a great coach, and they do have a little depth. On top of that their only real competition for the playoffs this season will be the Jets. But the Jets have used a lot of smoke and mirrors to disguise their holes, and the Patriots exposed that in the playoffs. The Patriots are going back to the playoffs, but they're not going to win the Super Bowl.

It really depends on the defense to stay healthy. Not on Moss. Remember last season in the AFC championship the Pats were leading 21-3 but Manning took advantage of the defense weaknesses to come from behind.
Two seasons ago they were the favorite to win 3 straight SBs but Bruschi and most of the starters secondary got hurt.
Last season they were 9-2 in the odds above the Colts that were 5-1. But again important elements on the defense such as Eugene Wilson, Ellis Hobbs and Rodney Harrison (back to back devastating injuries). Now we have to see how long it takes to Meriweather to learn the complex system to fill Harrison's shoes.
Now the concerns would be in the aging starting linebackers. Despite they brought Adalius Thomas, all of the starting four will be 30+ when the season begins and there's not much depth in this department like there was in the secondary.

The Pats are gonna go off htis year. Bill Bellichek is a god. Tom Brady has been getting it done year after year with so-so receivers. The Pats have 3 receivers that would start anywhere in the NFL. Laurence Maroney is gonna be better this year and their defense got better in the offseason. There is a perfect balance of rookie and veteran talent. The only reason they may not go 19-0 is they play Miami twice. Miami will always be the only undefeated team in the NFL. Especially if Bill rests people at the end of the season, which if he is shooting for the ring he will.

As we have seen in professional sports time and time again, just because you have the biggest payroll doesn't necessarily mean you will have the biggest payout. For example the New York Rangers for many years had the highest payroll in the entire NHL, and the struggled year after year. I think its a case of too many big name big shot egos in one locker room. Take Randy Moss and Tom Brady for instance. I could deffinatly see this becoming a feud that at some point in the season playing out in the media.

Yes lets just give the patriots the trophy and forget the season. No need to play the games just crown the pats. I like the pats but I don't think there perfect. Your right the expectations are enormous. Best thing they have going for them is a weak division and only 4 other AFC teams on there level.

Well, it's possible with Randy Moss on the team. I don't think it will happen, but he has ruined teams in the past. It's tough taking a head-case, but a risk the Pats had to take in an ever-tough AFC, where if you don't go for it all, you'll find yourself 9-7 and out of the playoffs!

Marty's a blind Patriots fan who won't listen to anything anyone says. Living in Maine I know alot of them.
They're not going 19-0. They'll win the AFC east, they'll get to the AFC Championship. The Super Bowl isn't a lock. Colts, Chargers, maybe even the Ravens will have something to say about that. If they make the Super Bowl.. I'd say right now they're 80 percent to win.
