How can I share folders over LAN?

Please, help me out with this one. Our computers are connected through LAN, I know that because we can play any RTS on LAN. What's the simplest way I can share a large folder over it?

control panel - network connections - chose your card
click properties, then make sure file and print sharing are on all computers.

find the folder, right click it and choose
sharing and security
click the "if you understand"
then check "share the folder on the network"
it will then pop up in "my network places"

make sure all computers are on the same workgroup
control panel - system - computer name tab.
