I'm not saying I spell things wrong, but so many of you people on these forums seem to take offense to mispelling. I find that stupid because its just a stupid forum. Some act like its the end of the world when they see a mispelling. I find that sad.

because if you say something people don't agree with they will try to make you look stupid without providing anything that has to do with the subject at hand

Hey "what?," since you think that you have the whole "proper english" thing down, I thought you would like to know that you are suppose to capitalize the first letter of a new sentence. Furthermore, your last sentence - "America is getting more bad," is not using the correct rules. 'America is becoming worse,' is the correct way to write the message you were trying to convey. Not that I am trying to correct anyone here, but if you're actually going to take the time out to correct people, make sure that you yourself aren't the one making mistakes. Thanks.

Alice, thanks for the input. Next time I am in the market for a job, I will surely consider applying with your emloyer, Burger King. If you are receiving applications that contain spelling errors, I am assuming that the level of sophistication needed at your workplace is considerably low. But hey, thanks for the advice. Perhaps we can get a linguistic specialist in here to correct some of your mistakes. And as far as dumbing things down, that's exactly what we need to do to bring people more at par with the intelectual elite. Consideration, not alienation, is the way to get people to behave in a certain manner. For all you know, you're turning down applicants with the most potential simply because they mispelled seven dollars an-hour under the desired pay section. Get off your high horse & cook me a burger woman. lol.

oh and by the way, people don't grow up and enter the job market; they enter the job market when they become of legal age, or when they become older - whichever form you prefer. Just thought you would like to know. Thanks.

LOL! Why do you find that sad? I can see if you accidentally mispelled a word, but it's stupid to spell words wrong on purpose. Why make a habit out of doing things the wrong way? You don't want to be stupid on purpose, do you? No matter where or what you write you should at least try to spell correctly.

Would you like to guess how many employment applications I have rejected because of poor spelling, incorrect punctuation, and bad grammar? I don't even know. Yes, this is just a silly forum but the young people using it are going to grow up and enter the job market one day, and they need to realize that they limit themselves drastically with poor communications skills
Beyond that, the "dumbing down" of America sickens me daily.

because it makes you look dumb if you make stupid grammatical errors that you should have learned in 3rd grade. like using the wrong your, its, there, and where. when these people posting grow up and apply for a job or have to write an essay or fill out an application, they will surely fail because they didn't get the proper education when they were younger. you must be literate in the future to get a good/decent job. the american education system is already near dead last in the world already, now it's just getting even more bad.

I'm not one who does it, and I know that typos happen, but they probably do it because they feel you should have at least higher than a 2nd grade education to be on here. The more misspelled words everywhere, the dumber America gets.

It catches on. It might just be me but seeing people type like that affects how I spell. They might not want to spell like that too.

I don't care about the spelling. For me it's grammar. Sometimes you can't make out what the heck they are even talking about.
