I am sorry for the unfortuneteness of your situation, I know it may be difficult, especially because right now you need to feel loved and protected and needed. I dont know what kind of person would o such a thing, but I know that you need not follow up on this person, It is a weak will that drives that person. And you who are so brave an about to undergo a successful surgery which will remove the cancer entirely, need not worry again about such a person, if they run at a time of need, then they are selfish and would have made a bad edition to your family regardless. You will want closure and to know why this person left, but in the end, it will not matter and you will be better off for it. I give you my prayers that the surgery will go perfectly with the knowledge that it will. take care and live you life better than before, making careful decision to whom you spend your time with from now on. Yu will be just fine, I promise.

A person who is ignorant to the out come and knowing the benefits of having a loving support system! Perhaps a COWARD not knowing the whole situation!! Oh sugar if this pertains to you know that I am here as your internet support system!! You don't have to go in to details or anything else just know I am your ear to bend and shoulder to hold! I myself haven't been through it but have had 2 close family memebers who have!! I am off for the summer so I will be on here regularly now!! Theres two ways to look at this (as with everything) only you can know which one fits your circumstances and your attitudes to life.
a) A deep down nasty, selfish person who is cowardly and has nothing to offer you in your time of need. Doesnt understand and wouldnt know how to behave around you.
If this helps you cope with the loss of this friend then use it.
b) A fragile personality that cant handle challenges and who depended on you to be their tower of strength. Now that the tables are reversed they cant be your friend as they dont have the basic caring, selfless personality (which attracted them to you in the first place). They cant be strong like you in your time of need.
At this moment you need supportive people round you.

To leave a person in such a fragile moment of his/her life is surely something awful for doing it, but it's hard to make a judgment about this behaviour without knowing better the circumstances that would have taken that person to act this way. Anyway I hope you've been supported by another dear ones.

Someone who is not compassionate and can not cope. This person probably does not have very many life experiences so they have not learned to cope or be there for someone else. Is this an only child or a very financially sound background? Sometimes these children have not learned- not always but a few.

I'm so sorry that you find yourself in this situation. Please don't feel alone, I will pray for you. God ALWAYS gives people the strength to cope when they have been left down badly by somebody else. I know this for a fact. I don't know the reason why you were left by your partner, only you can know this by asking. If you don't or can't get a satisfactory answer, move on with your life and your illness and overcome it without him. Just remember God will always be there for you. And my prayers are there too.

Well, some people just not strong enough for the pain and worry of a had outcome, they were too scared to face it. in this case, they will show up after the surgery, but they just can't stand to be there for the moment.

The type who are insensitive, irresponsible or the type who just can't bear the thought (let alone the sight) of seeing you suffer and possibly watch you die. Seeing such a thing can tear a person up inside.

Someone who not a good friend, but don't worry yourself about that person now, you have enought on your mind as it is. I will be there with you in my prayers. I hope everything goes fine with the surgery.

A frightened one, someone who can not handle the thought of a loved one suffering. unless they new well before time then yes coward.
It happens and to the best of us, but this is the true test of any relationship.
