I mean like a 1/2 hour, *Full Force* fit over something she will later admit is not important.

***THIS IS NOT A PMS ISSUE, THESE EPISODES ARE 3-4 MONTHS APART AND DO NOT SYNC WITH PERIODS***

They are extreme enough that if I had a tranquilizer gun, I would drop her. Yet when she's done she says "Oops sorry" and goes on as if nothing has happened and wonders why I'm freaked out.

Is this a *Chick thing*? is it a mental illness?
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this?

With the exception of these rage fits , she seems to be fairly normal.

***And this is not 'New' behavior it's been 3-4 times a year for the over 5 years I've known her.

Sounds like a hormonal problem. You really should talk her into seeing a doctor. Try after she's had an 'attack' when it's fresh in her mind.
Sometimes these 'small insignificant issues' you mention are just the last straw in something that's been building up over time. Might have nothing to do with what set her off. Is your wife quiet normally? Try talking more to her & let her know you're worried.

Sounds hormonal or depression. How old is she?Could she be going thru the change?

Sometimes its just a girl thing.Cant explain it.I dont think men actually understand what women go thru.Anything can offset our hormones and knock us way out of whack..I mean she is saying shes sorry so she knows she did wrong by flying off the handle.

Takes a patient and understanding man to just let things go.
I would have her see a DR for maybe depression or to check to see if she has a female thing going on.

I am not a guy but I actually used to do this. Believe it or not it can be a chemical imbalance or even a type of depression. And please don't get freaked out by that. Talking to someone about her mood swings may help. What ever you do, support her, don't let her think that she is on her own. It makes it worse. Stand by her all the way.

mmmmmmmmmmm what you consider insignificant may not be something she does...and she just says it isn't so you stop being mad at her...

examples would help...

it could be insecurities...she could just have an anger management problem...

I wouldn't call it a "chick thing" because it isn't normal behavior for anyone...

she could be borderline bi-polar - but that is not something a messageboard can tell you based onasmall snippet of information - there are a serious of tests she would have to undergo.

It could be a hormonal imbalance. Some forms of birth control have been known to have this as a side effect. Check out www.curezone.com

No this is not just a chick thing,,, Nor is her behavior acceptable and i would let her know this. how this is childish behavior and you will not put up with such behavior.. when she starts in on one walk out the door and go some where to relax and leave her to herself to think about what she is doing... Ask yourself this if you were to marry her and have kids would you feel save leaving your kids with her?{during a rage fit}

My first wife was like that, after our divorce she was diagnosed as being bi-polar, and with the correct drug treatment she actually became normal, her fits actually got worse with age, she was diagnosed at the age of fifty.

IT IS A HORMONE THING. WE WOMEN ARE EMOTIONAL AND IF THE WOMAN IS USED TO GETTING EVERYTHING HER WAY THEN WHEN SOMETHING IS OUT OF PLACE WE HAVE A FIT. IN YOUR CASE, IF A TRANQUILIZER IS NEEDED, SHE NEEDS TO SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP.

BE CAREFUL.

It isn't normal. She might need treatment for a chemical inbalance.
