Actually, you're "supplied" a penny to your ideas. If you set your 2 cents in, that makes 2 cents and one penny. They don't seem to be the equal incidentally because Great Briton has pennies and no cents at the same time the US has cents and no pennies. There's my 2 cents. .

Because some people are greedy and want something for nothing.
(i.e. they want two pennies from you, and in return for those two pennies, you'll get a penny back. This allows them to get a penny they otherwise would not have gotten through no effort of their own.)

Because an opinion costs more than a crazy random thought...... An opinion has been carefully thought out and "logically" put out to achieve a better result of the question at hand, while a thought may not be that quite logical....... because it is more spontaneous......
